Mission Statement
We believe ladies are funny. That is why we created LAFF, a festival celebrating comedy written, produced, or performed by women. LAFF will serve the greater Austin community by giving the public an opportunity to laugh themselves silly while at the same time creating new audiences and awareness of female comedy. LAFF will serve female comedians by creating community and opportunity for the diverse landscape of comedy by, for, and about women.
About LAFF Producers
Girls Girls Girls (producer and host) were named Best Improv Troupe in the 2006 Austin Chronicle Readers Poll. Their specialty, which strikes terror into the hearts of even veteran improvisers, is creating full-length musicals - complete with snappy songs, compelling characters, and even high-energy dance routines - on the spot from an audience suggestion.
LAFF 2010 has been executive produced by Valerie Ward, Julie Gillis, and Shana Merlin.
